Settling in and getting ready for the big swap

Funny, the cool weather followed us all the way to Florida, down in the 40's several mornings, although short sleeves were the order most of the days, finally!  And now it is very pleasant as it should be:-)  It is very different when you pull into a campsite and plan to stay for several months versus just a day or two.  You get a little more particular exactly where on the site you park, can you walk around this side or that side okay, is there room to park the scooter here, where are we putting our tomato plants, etc.  So we have been getting settled, had to go to the storage unit and immediately send our brand new tow bar back to Blue Ox to replace the one they sent us in Alaska.  If you remember our tow bar broke, at least it was suspect, and Blue Ox recommended we fix or replace it.  We reminded them we had been given a brand new one as part of their fitment program for the baseplate on our truck, but it was inaccessible in our storage unit in Florida, they said not to worry, they would send us a new one and when we got back to Florida months later we could send back our new bar.  There are fewer and fewer companies with this level of excellent customer service so we really appreciated it!  We've gotten our outside chairs set up, picked up a new full size grill for while we are in Florida, and are looking for a decent and not too expensive offset umbrella to shade our sitting area, no luck with that yet.

But our main thrust, after saying hello to many of our snowbird friends was to get ready for our Aqua-Hot switcheroo.  I have been studying the installation manual, and trying to get all the fittings I need ahead of time, and the ones I will need to pull the bad one out before the new one arrives.  I have 90% of what I need and until I have the new Aqua-Hot sitting here and can see exactly the configuration and the dimensions, the other 10% will have to wait.  One type of fitting has been driving us nuts, we need a brass elbow that is 1/2" NPT male on one end and 3/4" hose barb on the other and after visiting 6 different plumbing supply houses in Sarasota, gave up and finally found them on Amazon, but it will take several days for them to arrive, and we are hoping it won't interfere with our plans.  Our 22 quarts of concentrated boiler anti-freeze is supposed to arrive today, and we picked up the 12 gallons of distilled water we will need to mix it with yesterday.  We have received confirmed shipping info that the Aqua-Hot will arrive at the UPS freight dock in Fort Meyers on Thursday by close of day, so the plan is to go get the 350# shipping crate Friday.

And to top it all off, both Jan and I are feeling a little under the weather, and can't tell if it might be allergies or colds.  We are anxious to go see our dear friends, Ray and April, but can't take the chance of giving them our "disease".  But we are gaining on it, either getting used to the pollen or whatever, or just getting over our colds.  Either way we are ready to go a visiting, and do a little Aqua-Hot swapping.
