Not much to report, but busy

We are now halfway through our time here in Atlanta.  We've been busy, although doesn't seem like with too much.  We stopped on our way east in Dallas to see our financial advisor, and for an awesome sushi lunch and some really good BBQ.  Yeah, I had to get food in here somewhere:-)  And just so you don't think everything we eat is at restaurants, we made some excellent scallops!
Yummy sushi!

That's flaming crawfish

Superb BBQ, brisket, a HUGE beef rib, and jalapeño mac and cheese and beans!

And our own scallop dinner
From Dallas is was a straight shot with only 2 stops to Atlanta, and we had a nice day with warm weather at first to enjoy our fire pit.
Cheers!
Then we launched into our plans to fly up to Buffalo to see our son Jason and his fiancé  Joanne.  Jan had to go see an oral surgeon for an evaluation, and turned out she had to schedule oral surgery while here, since completed, all good.  Then we had to get ready to fly.  Two things, Bert, our cat, now 16 1/2 years old has become very needy and dependent so we lined up a pet sitter to come in and take care of him and visit him while we were gone.  The other will seem strange, especially as a retired airline pilot, I haven't flown in over 5 years, and frankly wasn't looking forward to it:-)  But it all went well and we had a nice visit.  There was snow on the ground and it actually got up to 40 one of the days we were there, hmmm, maybe the fall and winter aren't the best times to visit Buffalo.
Jan and our son Jason looking like deer in the headlights:-)

Jan found a new friend in Sophie
As I said we had a nice time, but unfortunately I came home with a mild cold.  We still have the dentist, dermo, and friends to visit with.  And with Jan's unexpected surgery we were lucky to have planned a little longer time here this year.

Now we just have to get our miffed cat back to normal, he still hasn't completely forgiven us for leaving him although he really liked his sitter.
Bert, still pissed

A very quick update

We got a few errands done here in Santa Fe, including our flu shots, and tomorrow we launch eastward.  It is always a sad time for us to leave the west which we love so much. No more mountains, very few vistas, and of course way more humidity.  But winter is coming, and Florida beckons.  We will be covering ground for the next week getting to the Atlanta area, and look forward to seeing friends and flying north to visit our son Jason and Joanne, and of course, dentist and doctor appointments.  Then on to our winter digs in early December.  Cheers!
