Small change and a couple other things

It's Monday, and we are still here.  Nothing bad, just a small change of plans.  We had intended to head for Kelly's in Texas through Biloxi, MS where we were going to meet with a gentleman that was going to back up our Multiplex system and change the programming on a few of our switches.  Multiplex, what's that?  I stole this description which is fairly straightforward>>>>>Traditional wiring systems utilize a central fuse panel with independent leads, switches and multiple ground wires formed into an octopus of a wiring harness. The latest trend is multiplex wiring. Multiplex wiring provides power to a common distribution center that can be controlled by various switch panels that connect to the control center via cat5 network wiring. Various switch banks can then be programmed to control each light, fan , or other electrical device via software.<<<<

We have this system on our coach, and since Monaco is basically out of business, there is some discussion that having a backup of your own unique software is a bit of insurance.  If something should go badly wrong with one of the computer modules, they are replaceable, but the software is unique.  It can be written from scratch, but it is very time consuming and expensive.  You say so what, do away with it, well not so easy.  Everything electrical is wired through this system, lights, fans, heating, water pump, TV lift, inverter, generator, etc.  We aren't feeling too anxious about it as the systems rarely fail, but it is something we want to get done.  At the same time we were going to have a few of our switches reprogrammed to have them operate where we want them, not where Monaco put them.  A big advantage to this system.  Well, we are going to have to put this off until fall when we head back to the southeast.

After I picked Jan up from the airport we went over to Jason's to visit and he made us an excellent dinner.  We won't be seeing him for a long while now, not until Thanksgiving time unless he is able to fly out and visit with us somewhere in our travels.  We sure hope so!

We are all set to go, everything is packed up, canoe's loaded, so we are ready for an early departure tomorrow.

And, no, the tires are still not paid for!?!
