We've been enjoying, yes, enjoying the changeable weather, a bit of sun mixed in with a bit more clouds, drizzle, and rain. Highs have mostly been in the 50's to low 60's, so welcome after Florida's heat. And it's funny in all the years we have been doing this, we have experienced more rain this spring than all the other years combined, it seems. And sometimes the unsettled weather yields beautiful skies.
On one of the nice days Jan and I took a ride down to Ocean Point, the southernmost point on Southport Island below Boothbay Harbor. The rocky seacoast is gorgeous!

We all went over to Boothbay Lobster Wharf for a ho hum lunch but with a nice deck with a view of the harbor.
So many picturesque spots in the area.
Even a gorgeous spot right in our campground.
We got a lot of problem solving done.
Jan made an incredible dinner of Vietnamese Caramel Chicken with rice and pickled vegetables.
We were busy all week long in Boothbay and happily were able to get up north to Augusta to meet up with friend's Bob and Harlean. We had a nice visit, an informative ride, and a delicious lunch together. It was nice to see them.

Thanks Bob and Harlean! Great seeing you two. |
We had one more huge event to accomplish before we left, and it fell to our last day, going to Red's Eats for their lobster rolls. They open at 11:30 and there is always a line so we arrived to get in line at 11:10, we were already number 16! They opened a few minutes early and welcomed everyone, and then a little later sent around a sample of their fried shrimp, yummy. At that point Tom and I waited in line so Jan and Karen could save us a seat down by the water. We got to the window about 11:45, and got our food about 12:10, a long ordeal, BUT. The price was high but not as bad as we expected, $31, about what the going price was everywhere we've been so far, but you can't believe how much lobster is put on these rolls. So worth it! We each got a side of scallops as they are amazing as well. We savored our enormous, fresh, delicious rolls.
Hard to fathom from the pictures how much lobster is on each roll |
That evening brought us more rain and after filling up on lobster and scallops for lunch I made French Onion Soup for dinner. Turned out good.
So in the pouring rain we both drove up to Camden to Camden Hills State Park for the next few days. Got set up and have lots of things planned.
Later.
