Goodbye To Maine For A Month, We'll Be Back:-)

First of all I want to say we did make homemade lobster rolls with the lobster we bought steamed and cleaned ourselves, and man, they were good!  Watch out Red's.

We did end up changing our plans, again, and decided not to go north when Karen and Tom left.  It was forecast to rain over an inch and the campground we were heading to in northern Maine was all grass, and we were afraid of getting stuck, so we extended 2 nights in Eastport instead.  We did have to move sites up off the water but the views weren't too shabby.

We have made our way over to Brownfield, ME near the NH border to a campground on the Saco River.  We had 2 nights here, a nice small place with huge sites, lot of privacy, and quiet and dark, On The Saco Family Campground.

So yesterday we were talking about what we wanted to do, knowing we wanted to go over and see Sebago Lake, and since I had Google open I mentioned to Jan we were only a little over an hour from Billy's Chowder House in Wells, she countered and said, OMG, it would be on a Wednesday.............$1 oyster day!!  That sealed it and just like that we knew what we were going to do.  It was a pretty drive down and we had an awesome lunch, perfection really.  Lucious oysters on the half shell, awesome seafood stew, crammed full of fish, and delicious onion rings.

Then while at lunch Jan had another epiphany, let's run up to Scarborough to that terrific seafood market before we head to Sebago, why not?  So we did and bought swordfish, flounder, and cod.  That way we'll be eating fish all the way to Buffalo and back:-)  Then back up around Sebago, looks to be a very pretty, huge lake, then back for our last night, so this morning we leave to go to Buffalo through White River Junction.  But like I say, watch out Maine, we'll be back in a month, we'll miss you.
