A difficult post, and a reminder

I have been debating whether to write this post or not and finally decided to do it as a reminder and a warning to those of you that have postponed doing something or going somewhere or participating in an special event for no good reason other than we'll do it soon, next week, next month, next year, or, or, or.  DO IT NOW!

You never know what may be waiting right around the next corner.  We have had something enter our lives that was totally unexpected, which will cause us to, at the very least, extend our stay here in Florida for several weeks to possibly several months. After an unusual exam on a regular annual physical, my family doctor ordered a PSA test which came back a bit too high, which prompted him to refer me to a urologist.  After another exam with him, he recommended a biopsy, and the rest is history.  You never expect to be the one sitting across from the doctor when he announces you have cancer.

After a battery of scans and tests, they believe it hasn't spread, and after discussing many treatment options, feel that removing my prostate will most likely offer the best prognosis.  I am scheduled for surgery in the near future and we are both hoping and praying this will end up just being a bump in the road.

Kudos! Hopefully your posting will result in someone else taking positive steps in their life, either getting that long delayed medical exam or test or doing something now they may otherwise never get to do. It isn’t easy I know. We will continue with the prayers for your health and well being and send our love and support. Always here for you!
