Headquarters

We left Albuquerque this morning for Santa Fe after the motorhome had a bath.  We had a detailer come in and boy did it need it.  Very few campgrounds allow washing of rigs or cars, sometimes because of local ordinances, water restrictions, the mess it makes, their own water bill, and on and on, so it is difficult to find a place where you can wash your own.  The motorhome was filthy, especially with the dirt roads we had to go on, so as we pulled into Stagecoach Stop we spoke to a guy detailing a car at the next site.  Turns out they do motorhomes, and at a decent price so we took advantage of it.

We had a nice visit over several days with Jan's mom, Vivian.  She is doing great, and is quite spritely at her young age of 89!  We did a lot of reminiscing about our many RV trips with her and Vern, and Ray and April.  Time sure flies by.

It is sure nice out here with the incredible views every which way you look.  Jan caught a glimpse of the Sandias as she was driving down the road with her phone.

Not a bad afternoon view, huh?

We're here in Santa Fe for a week.  It'll be good to chill out a bit.  We have a couple of favorite places to go eat while we're here so that's definitely on the agenda.  We are going to run back down to Albuquerque in a few days to see Nancy and CT and pick up some mail.  We are in a fabulous site here with a view of Santa Fe in the distance to the east, and a sensational view of mountains which will give us some super sunsets to the west.  We have a nice concrete patio, and for once the wind isn't blowing too bad, only 5-15mph making it very pleasant outside!
