A Great Time!

We were anxiously awaiting the arrival of our son Jason, Joanne, and Jax for their visit, but of course, we had to try one more restaurant, Bruno's Pizza in Bath before we moved to Boothbay:-)

Great pizza and tasty interesting wings(barbecue peanut sauce)

We got moved to Shore Hills Campground in Boothbay and wanted to go out and scout out some new places before the 3 J's would arrive.  We drove around and found a little hole in the wall, Trevett's Country Store, right on the water by a swinging bridge.  It was an oldy time small store with a counter where you order your food, then you pay for it at the cashier and they call out your number.  There are a few seats inside and a bunch of tables out on the deck.  A great find with delicious food, we got a pint of haddock, something we had never heard of before, but translated it was a LOT of wonderfully fried haddock.

We rode around a bit more just enjoying the beautiful coast of Maine.

They arrived, and after settling into their hotel, we had dinner here and Jax went right for the s'mores after, while Jason and I enjoyed a cigar.

And Moi

Jason booked us all on a schooner sail the next morning.  It was great, only a few people on the boat and quite a bit of wind, made it a very pleasant adventure.

The intrepid crew

The weather really cooperated, so s'mores every night:-)

Lobster was also a goal of Jason's, so off to Spragues for a lobster roll, and Jan and I introduced Joanne and Jax to steamers, they were appropriately grossed out:-)  They were delicious by the way.

Followed by another gorgeous evening.

That led us up to our last night together and that meant lobster dinner, cooked by us.  But first we had to get them.  Jason got his enormous 3 pounder, and Jan and I shared 3 small ones.  At the lobster pound Jax was able to help pick them out.

And he helped me get them in the pot.

First came Jason's behemoth

Ker plop, in you go!

Joanne and Jax enjoyed their non lobster dinner while we dug into ours.

So after our enjoyable dinner and another wonderful fire, and s'mores of course, we said good bye as they were heading all the way back to Buffalo early the next morning.  Jan and I sure enjoyed their visit, we had a great time!
