Hey, Let's Cap Off the Year With a Little More Change:-)

We leave Atlanta today, not that we were supposed to, mind you.  We figured with this year it would be appropriate to change things up a bit more.  While we were killing time here we took a drive up to Blue Ridge, GA, a cute small town in northern Georgia, in amongst the mountains and forests, very pretty.  It is also a nice walk around town, although with the virus we didn't do it.  I showed you a picture of the awesome Cuban sandwich we got while we were there and we also discovered a brand new campground, a KOA right on the Toccoa River.  We even drove in to check it out and that got the wheels turning.  One of the main reasons we came to Atlanta this time was for each of us to get a dental implant, Jan has been waiting for more than a year, and I have been waiting since the spring.  I decided to cancel mine, but Jan got hers done and had to have a followup yesterday.  That got us thinking, why don't we go back up to that KOA for a few days and look around?  So we are headed that way later today.

Now don't get the wrong idea, we like Atlanta, and while here we were hoping to see friends, go to several appointments, do some errands, eat some good food, but like everyone, the virus puts a kibosh on most of it.  We did have a nice quiet Thanksgiving, just Jan and I, but we were able to talk to our kids and other family to make it better, and of course, we ate well.

One of our traditions is to have homemade soup on T-Day eve
This was a delicious seafood chowder that Jan made, yummy!

Then, of course, Bloody Mary's T-day morning :-)

A bit of the good stuff before dinner

Our little turkey breast, turned out good though

Tada!  Thanksgiving

Then the best thing the next day, turkey sandwiches

The fall is when we usually do a service on our coach, oil and filter change, fuel filters, coolant filter, and a chassis lube, and we usually do it at Speedco.  But things have been changing at Speedco ever since Love's bought them a few years ago.  Speedco used to welcome diesel motorhomes, but Love's not so much, in fact on the forums they are making motorhomes wait if a truck comes in, and their attention to detail is waning, it's only the fact that they let you stand and watch that saved a few items for me, and for the last couple years they spill oil and grease all over the rear end of the coach.  So it was with a lot of trepidation that we were planning to do it on the way to Florida, I even contemplated doing it myself, but the logistics of getting rid of 10 gallons of used oil was pretty challenging.  We have had some experience with Detroit Diesel in Ocala, and were pleased, and then when I noticed in my records that I also needed the transmission filters changed we gave them a call.  We now have an appointment with them to do both services.

We did manage to have a distanced visit with friends, John and Diane, and a very fun, but competitive series of games of corn hole.  Lots of fun.  Hopefully next year with a successful vaccine we will all be able to get back to normal.

John and Diane, boys against the girls

Yehaa, another miss for moi:-)

We split the first 2 games, but with this game,
the championship, the boys prevailed!!
