Our first trip with our granddaughter Faith

We finished up our visit in Lubbock by surprising our granddaughter Faith by asking her if she'd like to travel with us for a week or so?  To say she was excited is an understatement.  So we 3 and Bert left Lubbock early Monday morning on our way to our first stop in Albuquerque.
A happy traveler
Before we left we saw a horned toad outside our motorhome that Faith was quite taken with.

A big guy
Faith settled in and enjoyed the trip even as we kept her attention outside to take in the incredible scenery as we left flat Lubbock and started to see mountains as we neared Albuquerque.  We had a whirlwind visit with family, great grandmother Viv, great aunt and uncle Nancy and CT, aunt and uncle Megan and Chip, and cousins Riley, Jackson, Caleb, and Charlotte.  Funny thing was, we actually wore her out.  We even managed a quick visit to Santa Fe to go to one of our favorite restaurants, The Pantry, where after only 10 pancakes for breakfast, she ate half of an enormous triple decker club sandwich, all to be followed up with a nice mexican dinner out at El Bruno's, including her first taste of sopapillas, she ate two!  She said her belly might explode if she moved too quick:)

So after our wonderful visit in Albuquerque, we headed up to Pagosa Springs.  Faith was impressed with the incredible scenery including snowcapped mountains as we made our way north.
Faith and Bert, happy travelers
We stopped along the way for lunch at a beautiful spot near Lake Abiquiu.

The whole crew
Faith's mom and brother will join us later here in Pagosa Springs and we will take them on some of our favorites hikes and show them around the area.  Then Kelly, Faith, and Christian will continue on a short camping trip on their way back to Lubbock, while we will head north.

I can report the generator is working perfectly so far, we are still a bit gun shy, but so far so good.  The weather here is delightful, 80's in the day, 40's at night and no humidity.  Awesome!
