We had a fantastic dinner at a fantastic restaurant, Barbacoa in Boise on our last night there with fantastic company, Sandy, Kris, Abby, Karen, Jan, and I. Thanks Sandy and Kris!
Then off in the morning for Kennewick, WA, stayed in a pretty new and nice campground with rainshowers and clouds around. But the next morning dawned bright and clear for our drive into Seattle. It is gorgeous scenery on the way as you get closer and closer to the Cascades. It got greener and greener the more northwest we went, but boy o boy was the wind howling, 30mph plus! We stopped for lunch at a rest area from which you could see the Cascade range up ahead and the huge mass of clouds and fog that was poised right on top. Sure enough as we started our climb up and over Snoqualmie Pass at 3022' we encountered fog and rain. We continued over and down into the Seattle area to find tons of traffic even on a Saturday. We've been spoiled being out in the country so long, so traffic was tough. We went north to Bothell, just northeast of Seattle proper to our campground which is nice and quiet, but extremely tight. After we shoehorned ourselves into our sites, we went off for a pleasant evening with some friends of Karen's. So now it's Monday morning and we are ready to run some errands and true to form, it has been raining off and on and cloudy our entire time here so far. Luckily not too hard all the time, so in between the raindrops Karen repaired a leak on her rig with a little help and support from Jan and I.
Tomorrow is supposed to bring us sunlight so we will head downtown then to sample a bit of Dungeness crab and cioppino.
