Ferry Eve

We're sitting here at a beautiful campground, Fidalgo Bay Resort, in Anacortes, WA.  Our crew now includes 4 of us, Karen's husband, Tom also our featured author in my links has joined us for a few weeks!  Each of us is getting the few things left to do done before we get on the ferry tomorrow.  It's a long ride, we leave Bellingham, WA at 6pm, Friday, travel nonstop for 38 hours to our first docking in Ketchikan, AK, at 10am the 22nd, Sunday morning, then to Wrangell, Petersburg, and finally arrive in Juneau at 715am on Monday morning the 23rd.  2 days, 11 hours, and 15 minutes all with our motorhomes completely shut down.  So no refrigerators or freezers, hence a lot of the prep.  We are trying to eat up all the frozen food, and get the friges down to stuff that won't rot.  And the funny thing is, since we live full time in our rig, we have never completely shut it down before except for just a few minutes during a repair.  So along with maneuvering our big rigs onto the boat it adds just a bit of anxiety.  We are sitting right on the water in a very peaceful place, just soaking up the beauty and exalting in leaving the ridiculous hustle and bustle of Seattle in our dust!  Now I'm going to regal you with a lot of pictures of our way to where we are.

Of course you just knew there would be food shots, right?  Had to go to Pike Place Market, open since 1907 and as busy as ever!
Lunch baby!

Clam chowder, scallop chowder, and of course,
Dungeness Crab cocktail!

Tom agrees it's good!

And he's not alone in thinking that:-)

Inside the bustling market

Just one stand of incredible fish!

Now as I said we are parked in a lovely spot right on the water.
