And Just Like That, We are Heading North for Real

I'll warn you right off the bat, most of this post is pics of food:-)  We turned it around in Florida and made our way to Nashville.  We stopped for the 3rd time at Tifton Overnight and decided that even as nice as it is, all paved, concrete sites, no contact, and bonus, Waffle House within a short walking distance, we would not be staying there again.  We are averse to lights and after all 3 of our nights there yielded almost no sleep as it is lit like an operating room, we'll look for something else on our trips north and south.  It's a shame too, as it is so very well done with that huge exception.

We then stopped in Asheville, AL at Greensport RV Park, it was okay, although the weather wasn't too cooperative, nonetheless we found a good place for lunch, Capeside.

A "small" bowl of gumbo

Excellent fried green tomatoes

Fried oyster and shrimp combo, yummy!

We got into Nashville, got settled in after a long and winding day through the middle of AL and TN, we didn't want to go on the interstate.  Beautiful drive, but a little more windy than anticipated.  We got a nice site with a pretty view.

Jan's sister Karen and Tom were joining us the next day, so what to do?  Go find some lunch, and we did at a nice place called The Goat, and although the food when it finally arrived was very good we waited at least 45 minutes to get it and overall spent 1 hour and 50 minutes for nothing more than lunch.  You'll have to make up your own mind about this one.

Karen and Tom rolled in with serious generator problems that a shop told them was because of a  bad board.  A new one was being sent so in the meantime, go to lunch:-)  We all went to Franklin to a nice place, Puckett's, we all had good meals, but Jan's and my catfish was awesome!

Unfortunately, K&T's generator saga continued, after a team effort getting the old board out we found out they had received the wrong part, so after an involved phone call, arrangements were made to send the correct part and return the other, another day or so added to the mix.  That was okay, more HH's, more visiting, and more lunches:-)

To make matters worse, the new part came, was installed and the generator still wouldn't run!  We could really feel their pain after all our own generator woes last year.  Hopefully they will be able to find a shop as good as the one we found and get their issues attended to.  So we bid farewell, sadly as our routes are not going to intersect this year.

So Jan and I had one more day until we get on the move, must mean another lunch.  This time we went to Uncle Bud's, a kind of unique place in that when you get settled in they bring out the sides, white beans, cole slaw, pickles, onions, hush puppies, then you order.  The sides are unlimited so although you can keep asking for more, the first serving was plenty for us.  We ordered catfish and fried chicken, both quite good.

We will be covering serious mileage now to spend a few days in Brattleboro, VT before our arrival in Scarborough, ME for 7 weeks, until then.
