Florida Baby!

What a difference so far from last year, we were running from freezing weather and so were the masses from the north.  This year it wasn't the case, even so the weather has been nice, maybe a bit warm so far, but that really sounds like complaining, huh?

Our trip down was good, we stopped at the Speedco in Jackson, GA first, but they had trucks lined up waiting, and when we were told it would be at least 2 hours before we could even get in, down the road we went.  The next day we rolled into the Lake Park, GA Speedco to find nobody there!!  We unhooked and went into the bay for our oil change and lube service, and we were hooking back up and driving on out in just under 1 hour, excellent.  We planned to spend Sunday night just outside the fence in the driveway of Josam's, our chassis and alignment place, and arrived to pouring rain at about 4pm.  We settled in for an unsettled night in the industrial area, and can report the economy is doing better as the truck traffic never stopped all night.  Promptly at 7am we pulled through the fence and into the alignment pit to have a look see and replace our front height control valve.  They had that done in just a few minutes, and other than 4 leaking shock absorbers, we passed with flying colors.  We needed to wait another few minutes while they waited on our desiccant cartridge for our air dryer to show up, and I began to investigate the procedure for getting warranty replacement on our new in 2013 Koni shocks.  It turned out to be a pretty straightforward deal, so we have completed the paperwork and now will probably get our new replacement shocks just after the beginning of the year, only down side is that we will plan to go back to Orlando to have Josam's do the work.  So by 930am, we were pulling out and on the road.

We had another "little" problem come up on our way to Atlanta from Texas in addition to the running lights going out, which we haven't resolved yet by the way.  If you remember we replaced our OEM wiper system last year which was way undersized for the coach with a very robust powerful system.  The two holes in the front cap that the wiper stems come out were a bit too narrow for the new system, so they elongated the holes a bit to get the new one on.  We all thought we were good to go, but that torrential rain for 3 solid days used the wiper system probably more than a usual 5 years of driving.  Anyway, the holes developed small stress cracks, so it will be necessary to have some fiberglass work done to reinforce the holes and then a repaint of the area.  We want to remove our 3M coating on the front of the coach this year as it is really showing its age, with discoloration and peeling, so we stopped into Creative Coach in Lakeland, FL on our way by to get an estimate.

We then arrived at our winter home, Royal Coachman RV Resort in Nokomis around 4pm.  And we haven't slowed down since.  We made some visits to friends, had lunch with friends, enjoyed the fire with friends, enjoyed the sunset at the jetty, and had an opportunity to move sites which have wanted to do for some time, and we will officially move to our new site this Saturday.  Out of the direct sun and the wind, and into the shade on a lovely, huge site.  It will offer some challenges, our satellite dish on our roof won't work, but we are trying for another solution, and this new site has no pavement or pavers, so we will need to come up with a way to beat the sand.  All good though, and close to dynamite neighbors!

Welcome back!
